Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop.  If you haven't yet, please visit The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to make sure you see all the participants.
This is my layout for the Counterfeit Kit Mini Challenge blog hop. A sketch from the inspiration kit club, Scraps of Darkness, was provided. I love the way this page came out but it is way outside of my comfort level.  I have always been more of an event scrapper and don't think I have ever done a one photo layout.  I don't think I  have ever done little embellishment clusters either but I really like them. The journaling is about my husband and how much I love this picture of him.  It really captures his personality.

I added a few items to my original kit
  • the blue die cut paper to coordinate with the photo.
  • some flowers from my stash.
  • Tim Holtz film strip (love this), staples, paper clip & safety pin
  • doilys and buttons cut with my new PTI dies
  • grunge board key and arrow
  • Jenni Bowlin journaling page

The large circle and the buttons are cut from pages of an old dictionary that I found last week when my sister and I went to an estate sale.  I think I paid 75 cents for the dictionary.
This was sure fun!
Please visit Tricia for the next hop.

Thanks for visiting.
See you soon,
Ang

Well, Ang, this is kinda fabulous! I don't know diddly about scrapping, but this is really amazing. I adore all the interesting elements you have included here. I am trying to figure out how you did that corner cutting in the middle of the darker background paper. Is it some sort of neat optical trick all you clever scrappers know about? So cool. I also love the tag. Heck, everything is cool and works so well. Love this!
You layout is GREAT!!! I REALLY like the embellishmetn clusters...Awesome job.
