Quilt Update

Image
I am so enjoying making this quilt.  I have most of my  pieces ironed on the the quilt,  just a few more things and then I need to start sewing.    Her face, hands and shoes are silk screened.   Isn't she a beauty?  I just love her.   I will have to come up with a fun name for her.     Since this is going to be a wall hanging I am adding some fun embellishments.   Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Hi Gang,

Image
Long time no see.  I g0t to play a little this week.   I used some of my new PTI goodies to make a card: Lots of stickles on  those sunflowers.   Here is a close up of the fence: I used my woodgrain IP on the fence.  Love the way it came out.   I spent several hours yesterday working on my quilt.  I am loving how it is turning out.  I forgot to take a picture, will try to post it ASAP. I got to visit my favorite LSS, Scrapbook Territory, in Berkely today.   I couldn't resist these little beauties.   They are Prima cameo stick pins.   I have always loved cameos.  Not sure why, just love the beauty of them.  Not sure what I will do with them.  I may just leave them sitting on my desk so I can enjoy them everyday.   Thanks for visiting. Be back soon, Ang

Like I Need Another Hobby!

Can you guess what it is?   More on that in a moment. My new job is going so incredibly well that I am working non stop.  It is a super busy time for them and I have been working 9 and 10 hour days.  Believe me, I am not complaining.  I love it and the people I work with are fantastic.  The only down side is that I am so busy and exhausted that I have hardly any time to do any browsing on the computer.  I miss it and I miss seeing everyone's blogs and creations. Now on to my title.  On top of everything, I am taking a quilting class.  I have been sewing all my life but never made a quilt before.  My girlfriend asked me to take this quilting class with her.  When I saw the quilt, there was no way I could pass it up.  It is actually a Halloween wall hanging.  I have always been partial to Halloween.  Maybe the fact that my birthday is the next day has something to do with that.   Anyway, the quilt is super cute.  It is pretty simple as quilts go (I think).  It is square

The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

Image
Another, new to me, sketch challenge.   The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge was recommended to me by a pal over at the PTI forum.  Here is the sketch: I needed a little note book for a project my girlfriend and I are working on.  I decided to make her a little notebook also.   I recently purchased a couple of Skipping Stones Stamps .  They have some really funny stamps and sentiments.  They are great quality made in the US.  I bought these during thier "Blogs for Boobies" fundraiser.  Gotta love that! (I am not affiliated with them at all, just like thier stuff). Here are the notebooks: I wanted them to be cheery and bright.  I think I accomplished that using my Cosmo Cricket DeLovely 6X6 pad. I paper pieced the purses.  I really love paper piecing.   Here are some close ups: I had purchased these two notepads at Target a couple of years ago.  They are cute, about 3" X 5", started out covered in kraft paper.
