Last of the March Fakes?

Image
This may be my last project using my Counterfeit Kit for this month.  I found a couple of old pictures of Mt. Lassen and they brought back a lot of childhood memories of camping there.  This was just about the only vacation my parents could afford when I was a kid so we spent a lot of time camping there.  We have gone up to Lassen several times with our kids and I still love it up there. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Blog Hop

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Blog Hop.  If you need a list of all the participants,  please visit  http://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/ .   I am so excited, this is my second month of participating and it was super fun last month.  This month we were challenged to scraplift ourselves.  I found an old card I had made way back when I first started card making.  I imagine at the time I really liked it, but looking at it now, I can see how much my skills have improved. The coloring is really bad, I can't even tell what I used to color.  It kind of looks like crayons. Here is my new card.  Everything on this card, except the card base, is from my kit.  I love the way it turned out.  I wanted to show a close up of the butterfly to show how I layered it. Please hop on over to visit Mary next.  Thanks for joining us. Thanks for hopping. See you soon, Ang

Counterfeit Birds

Image
I have been working on this for a week or two.  I went back and forth on the idea for the twigs.  This started out as a holder for the Williams-Sonoma peppermint soap collection that they carry during the holidays.  I love the stuff and a very dear girlfriend of mine gave me the set for Christmas.  The box is super sturdy and I couldn't just recycle it.  It kind of reminded me of a birdhouse, hence my paper choices.  It started out red, so I painted it and then covered it in papers from my Counterfeit Kit.  The ribbon is from my kit also. I decided to use some actual twigs from my backyard. There is a twig and bird on each side.  I used, for the first time, Helmar Liquid Scrapdots to adhere the birds. Love it.  Since I was adding them to the twigs it was very uneven.  The Liquid Scrapdots made for perfect dimensional adhesion by evening everything out. Hmmm...what to store in it. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Warm & Cozy cards

Image
Here in Northern CA it has been raining and cold for about a week.  I know you snow people think we are big whiners here, but I can't stand this weather.  So I made a set of warm and cozy cards using one of my favorite PTI sets, Warm Happiness I & II.  I also used papers from my Counterfeit Kit.  Here  is each card individually.  Lots of PTI goodness on these:  When I make cards and/or card sets I always like to do a little something to coordinate on the envelopes.  On the envelopes for these  cards I stamped one of the sayings from the PTI set. Rain, rain go away.... Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Image
Happy PTI Blog Hop day, This month PTI asked us to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way.  I started thinking about this about a week ago and I'll tell you that, except for the Altoid tin, what I had planned couldn't be further from what I actually came up with.   I tried my first idea about three times before I finally gave up.  I have never tied so many french knots in my life.  Anyway, I was in bed the other night and this idea came to me.  It's still not exactly what I had envisioned, but I like the way it came out. Here is the outside of the tin.   I wrapped the floss around a Maya Road chipboard twig.  I used a PTI coaster for the top to level it out.  I made masks with my PTI cloud dies and then sponged the sky.  The leaves are from Beautiful Blooms II and the button is PTI Ripe Avocado.  The papers used on the box are from my Counterfeit Kit. Here is a close up so you can see the depth of the branch and the shank button I used.  I poked a hole in the top

Counterfeit Cork Board

Image
Hi there, We had another mini challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog  today.  We were to create something, using our kit, with a frame on it.  As I was going thru some old drawers the other day, I came across this little bulletin board.  It is about 9" square.  I have no idea were I got it, but had always intended to alter it  some day.  I don't have a ton of paper left in my kit, but I had saved this one paisley sheet from the Fancy Pants Happy together line.  I love anything paisley.   The wooden frame was just primed in white (forgot to take a picture beforehand).  I glued the paper to the frame and edge it with some distress ink.  I had found this fun stamp set a while back.  I love the sayings on it.  I dug out a couple of old Maya Road chipboard crowns and went to town on them.  Silver paint and tons of bling. Even tho it is technically a bulletin board I think I may just pin a picture in the center and use it as a frame.  Thanks for visiting.

Counterfeit Layout

Hi Everyone, Today I am sharing a double 12X12 layout I did using my Counterfeit Kit.  The photos are from 2005, my kids look so young in them.  My boys are now 14 & 16.  Yikes.   Anyway, I had to take separate photos of each page so please use your imagination. right side left side The title (right side) shows up much better IRL.  I used a sketch from Becky Fleck's Page Maps #2.  Love these books. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Mini Composition Book

One more little project using my Counterfeit Kit.   My pal Crystal sent me two beautiful sheets of woodgrain print outs.  One of them was on canvas (love it) and I used it and other parts of my kit to cover this little book. I added the leaf ribbon from my stash and one of my little flowers I made.  Thanks again, Crystal. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Counterfeit MIM

Image
Hi Everyone, Today I am sharing a card I made using my Counterfeit Kit that also falls under the PTI Make it Monday Challenge.   The MIM challenge this week is to partially emboss/deboss/impress an element. I made this Anniversary card using my PTI Heart Prints stamps and Book Print Impression plate. If you look at the hearts very closely you can see that I only embossed half of each of the Rustic White and Ocean Tides hearts. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Counterfeit Kit

Hi Everyone, I made some cards using my March kit.  I purchased these bra stamps from Skipping Stones Designs (scroll down) a couple of months ago and hadn't used them yet.  When I bought them a portion of the proceeds went to charity.  I am not sure if that is still the case.   Anyway, I love the stamps and have just the girlfriend in mind for these cards.  I think she'll get a kick out of them.     Here is a little more detail: I used my PTI doily dies which I love, use them on almost everything.  I added a Gelly Roll sparkly pen over the bra lines.  Besides the stamps and the papers from my kit, everything is PTI. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

I know you already saw this

birdhouse, but I wanted to link it to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog since I used papers from my kit.  I also had a few more details I wanted to share. Here is the entire thing, it is about 26" long.   I found this little cat bead in my stash and thought it was cute.  It sits on top of the fence.  I cut the trees out of a paper from my kit and added them around the house.  On the roof, I used the wood veneer from my kit. It's hard to see but on the picture to the left I cut out a little bird that I had embossed and he is sitting on the little perch.  (enlarge photo if nec) And hanging from the bottom of the house is shown in the photo to the right. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Thank you to...

Lisa Young for posting these adorable Pots of Gold.  I made three of them for my husband and sons.  They came out quite cute if I do say so myself. Finally a chance to use my PTI Luck of the Irish set.  I've got them hidden till Thursday when I plan to put them at their place settings at dinner. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Helmar USA Design Guest Designer Submission

Image
Hi Everyone, I am really going out of my comfort zone here.   I regularly peruse the Scrapscene blog.  It's a great blog, they have almost daily postings about all that's going on in the scrapping world.  About a week ago they listed a Guest Designer Call for the Helmar Company.  It caught my eye because I had just bought my first bottle of Helmar's Premium Craft Glue a few days earlier at my LSS and had already been using it on two projects.  Good Stuff.  I am always on the search for a good liquid adhesive, I use a lot of it. I decided to submit for the Guest Designer Call.   I figured what the heck, I already had started two of the three projects anyway and had the third planned.  So, here are my projects. The cover and a few pages from my 50th Birthday mini book.  I used Helmar's Premium Craft Glue to adhere the papers to the book pages and to adhere the die cut letters and 50 to the cover. Some of the organza flowers I made.  I used the Helmar's Premi

Papertrey Paper Dolls

I made this for the Papertrey Paper Dolls challenge this week.  They had a great blog hop where we got to know all of them and they are having a challenge also. The theme for their challenge is PTI. Use something starting with each of the three letters.  I decided to make another of my beloved notepads.  This uses P ure Poppy ribbon,  a T elephone and I nk.  Thank you Papertrey Dolls and Thank you for visiting.
