Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop.  If you haven't yet, please visit The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to make sure you see all the participants. This is my layout for the Counterfeit Kit Mini Challenge blog hop. A sketch from the inspiration kit club, Scraps of Darkness, was provided. I love the way this page came out but it is way outside of my comfort level.  I have always been more of an event scrapper and don't think I have ever done a one photo layout.  I don't think I  have ever done little embellishment clusters either but I really like them. The journaling is about my husband and how much I love this picture of him.  It really captures his personality. I added a few items to my original kit :  the blue die cut paper to coordinate with the photo.  some flowers from my stash. Tim Holtz film strip (love this), staples, paper clip & safety pin doilys and buttons cut with my new PTI dies grunge board key and arrow Jenni Bowlin

I wanted to use up more of my Counterfeit Kit.   I added a few stamps, some bling and a couple of flowers.  I made this mini book and I am really happy with how it came out.  Here is the cover: And some of the inside pages:   and some of my favorite details:  On this last photo, I used paint with Heart Prints.  I really love the look of it. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Finally.  This is the reason I wanted to start a blog.  I wanted to be able to participate in the monthly PTI Blog Hop.  This months challenge is to use scallops. I have been making a lot of cards in the last couple of weeks so I thought I would make something else for the hop.  When I first found out that the challenge was to use scallops I came up with the die cut idea.  Then I though it might work for a note pad cover.  So, here you have it: The little tags are SU and the letter stamps are Technique Tuesday, otherwise everything is PTI. Now, before I show you a close up of the die cut, I feel I must provide a disclaimer: Please don't look at this image for too long as it may cause headaches.  It gives me a little bit of one; it's a tad crazy with all the color and dots. Take Tylenol and take care, Ang

Another PTI Make it Monday #3 card

2/23 ETA:  Cheryl asked about the non-stick strip I adhered the Scor-tape to.  It was a piece I had torn off of my glue dots.  You could also probably use the backing from another piece of Score-tape. Hope that helps. Cheryl, I still didn't see your email to reply directly.  I am new to this blog thing. sorry. Ang I am on a roll here.  I had an idea about using the Scor-tape and I really like how it turned out.  I attached the 1"  Scor-tape to a non-stick strip and then I ran it thru my Cuttlebug using the PTI Victorian Lace die.    Doing this also gave me the little strip I used right under the ribbon and the negative's you get with this die which I will use in the future.  I used one of my favorite PTI colors , Ocean Tides.  I clear embossed with Turning a New Leaf. I cut the Love Lives Here butterflies using a new Memory Box collection called Brioche, it is really a pretty collection.  The ribbon is also PTI. When I was tying the bow I realized I completely for

PTI Make it Monday #3

This weeks challenge at PTI was to use Scor-tape to make a glitter strip. I wanted to do a masculine card so my strip is not really glittery, I used micro beads.  I used the Graphic 45 Proper Gentlemen again.  This patterned paper is so fun to work with, there is so much detail.   The Cardstock and stamps are PTI, the newspaper advertising is a scrap of SU Newsprint paper I found. When I flipped it over and saw the City of Paris advertisement for men's suits I couldn't beleive it.  Meant to be, or what? I used the new PTI coasters (love) and PTI buttons and the new PTI button card die.  The sentiment stamp is an old CHF set I have. This came together so easily and I love it. Off to link to PTI.  Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang
