Card Patterns Sketch #126 & PTI MIM

Image
I combined two challenges on this card; PTI's Make it Monday & CPS #126. Let me start off by saying this card is so not me. I think it is really pretty and am happy with the way it came out, but it is just not me (kwim). First off, I rarely use yellow, it is probably my least liked color (sorry yellow lovers).  I think my dislike of yellow goes back to my childhood, but that's another story.   Secondly, if I use glitter, it is never in such large quantities.  When I saw the sketch tho, I remembered this frame that I had glittered back when I first got the glitter.  Don't get me wrong, I love glitter, just not in large doses. Thirdly, the lilies .  I love lilies, just not white ones. The PTI challenge was to color using white ink.  I really enjoyed the process, but would like to try it with different colors. I used my PTI Book Print IP on the top portion of the card. The card stock and ribbon are PTI also. The lilies are from SU's Fifth Avenu...

I got the tag done...

and a flower too.  This is to go along with the cards & notepad in my previous post.  I made the flower into a pin and made this little tag to attach it to.  Whenever Joann's has buttons half off I always buy extra, pretty ones to use in crafting..  I used one of those as the flower center for this flower.  It's a little sparkly and really pretty in real life.  So here is the tag and gift all put together.  I just love it (toot, again). Thanks for visiting. Toot you soon, Ang

I hate to toot...

my own horn, but I love the way this set came out.  A friend of mine is celebrating her 65th (that can't be right, if you met her you might think she is late 40's) next week.  I am going to be on vacation next week so I am happy that I got this done before leaving. I made this set of cards and a notebook for her. my favorite, the notebook: and each card: flower detail     I went to the Scrapbook store for inspiration.  I came home with three sheets of PP from Basic Grey, Hello Luscious, to make these.  I have tons of PP left over.  Of course I also used a lot of my PTI favorites.  On the notepad I clear embossed a new BG stamp on the cardstock and did some fussy cutting of the flowers from the PP.  I then added stickles and a few tiny pearls. On the flower details you will see die cuts using my 1 3/4 inch circle and one each of the beautiful blooms dies.  I love layering them this way. On the best wishes card I used my ...

my first born came into the world.  Today is my oldest son's 17th birthday.  I made this book for him as a gift.  It covers all of his experiences in driving; the lessons, tests etc.  It's a small book about 3X8. These charms are hanging from one of the binder rings.  The fake key came in the mail as part of a contest and I thought it was perfect.  permit test  driving lessons actual driving test  pocket for temporary license   I ran out of photos and still had a couple of pages left. so I added the "First Car" vellum page and left space to add those pictures when he buys his first car. The back page Hope he likes it! Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

PTI Blog Hop

I am so happy to be participating once again in the PTI Blog Hop this month.  Here is the inspiration photo that was provided.  I have been wanting to do a layout about my love of Jane Austen novels for a while, I even bought PP for it.  For some reason, upon seeing this picture for the first time, the first thing that jumped into my head was Jane Austen.  It looks like a reading nook and the subtle colors maybe?  Not sure why, but Jane Austen it is. So here is my layout.  I wanted the books to look like they were on shelves. This quote is from the PTI set all booked up.  I thought it perfect for this layout. This is one of my all time favorite things I have made.  I think I am going to get a 12X12 frame and hang it up as a little tribute to Jane.  Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang
