Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Happy PTI Blog Hop day,
This month PTI asked us to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way.  I started thinking about this about a week ago and I'll tell you that, except for the Altoid tin, what I had planned couldn't be further from what I actually came up with.   I tried my first idea about three times before I finally gave up.  I have never tied so many french knots in my life.  Anyway, I was in bed the other night and this idea came to me.  It's still not exactly what I had envisioned, but I like the way it came out.
Here is the outside of the tin.
I wrapped the floss around a Maya Road chipboard twig.  I used a PTI coaster for the top to level it out.  I made masks with my PTI cloud dies and then sponged the sky.  The leaves are from Beautiful Blooms II and the button is PTI Ripe Avocado.  The papers used on the box are from my Counterfeit Kit.
Here is a close up so you can see the depth of the branch and the shank button I used.  I poked a hole in the top and wired and glued the button on.  That puppy isn't going anywhere.

The fun part is on the inside.

I lined it with brown PTI felt and added the little band on the top to hold some of the goodies in.  I found this cheapo sewing kit in my stash, took it apart and it fit perfectly inside the tin.  Even including the tiny little scissors.

Thanks for visiting.
See you soon,
Ang
