Hi Everyone,   It's time for an  end of the term blog hop over at House of Cards  and we have a super fun challenge AND tons of great prize opportunities for those of you who join in the fun! You should have arrived here from Vanessa's blog .  If you haven't, please start all the way back at the House of Cards hop post and follow the list found in the body of the hop post! This is my first DT Blog Hop.  I am very happy to say that I am staying on with HOC for the next six months.  It has been so much fun and really pushed me out of my comfort zone a couple of times. Here is the beautiful inspiration photo for the hop.  I really love this image and was inspired to make two completely different cards.   Both of which are a little over the top for me, but I love both of them. We have some great sponsors and they not only provided us all with inspiration; images, digital paper and stamps, they also prov...

PTI Blog Hop

Image
I am so happy to be participating once again in the PTI Blog Hop this month.  Here is the inspiration photo that was provided.  I have been wanting to do a layout about my love of Jane Austen novels for a while, I even bought PP for it.  For some reason, upon seeing this picture for the first time, the first thing that jumped into my head was Jane Austen.  It looks like a reading nook and the subtle colors maybe?  Not sure why, but Jane Austen it is. So here is my layout.  I wanted the books to look like they were on shelves. This quote is from the PTI set all booked up.  I thought it perfect for this layout. This is one of my all time favorite things I have made.  I think I am going to get a 12X12 frame and hang it up as a little tribute to Jane.  Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for visiting. See you soon, Ang

Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Blog Hop

Image
Hi Everyone, Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge March Blog Hop.  If you need a list of all the participants,  please visit  http://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com/ .   I am so excited, this is my second month of participating and it was super fun last month.  This month we were challenged to scraplift ourselves.  I found an old card I had made way back when I first started card making.  I imagine at the time I really liked it, but looking at it now, I can see how much my skills have improved. The coloring is really bad, I can't even tell what I used to color.  It kind of looks like crayons. Here is my new card.  Everything on this card, except the card base, is from my kit.  I love the way it turned out.  I wanted to show a close up of the butterfly to show how I layered it. Please hop on over to visit Mary next.  Thanks for joining us. Thanks for hopping. See you soon, Ang

Papertrey March Blog Hop Challenge

Happy PTI Blog Hop day, This month PTI asked us to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way.  I started thinking about this about a week ago and I'll tell you that, except for the Altoid tin, what I had planned couldn't be further from what I actually came up with.   I tried my first idea about three times before I finally gave up.  I have never tied so many french knots in my life.  Anyway, I was in bed the other night and this idea came to me.  It's still not exactly what I had envisioned, but I like the way it came out. Here is the outside of the tin.   I wrapped the floss around a Maya Road chipboard twig.  I used a PTI coaster for the top to level it out.  I made masks with my PTI cloud dies and then sponged the sky.  The leaves are from Beautiful Blooms II and the button is PTI Ripe Avocado.  The papers used on the box are from my Counterfeit Kit. Here is a close up so you can see the depth of the branch and the s...

Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge February Blog Hop.  If you haven't yet, please visit The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog to make sure you see all the participants. This is my layout for the Counterfeit Kit Mini Challenge blog hop. A sketch from the inspiration kit club, Scraps of Darkness, was provided. I love the way this page came out but it is way outside of my comfort level.  I have always been more of an event scrapper and don't think I have ever done a one photo layout.  I don't think I  have ever done little embellishment clusters either but I really like them. The journaling is about my husband and how much I love this picture of him.  It really captures his personality. I added a few items to my original kit :  the blue die cut paper to coordinate with the photo.  some flowers from my stash. Tim Holtz film strip (love this), staples, paper clip & safety pin doilys and buttons cut with my new PTI dies grunge board key a...

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Finally.  This is the reason I wanted to start a blog.  I wanted to be able to participate in the monthly PTI Blog Hop.  This months challenge is to use scallops. I have been making a lot of cards in the last couple of weeks so I thought I would make something else for the hop.  When I first found out that the challenge was to use scallops I came up with the die cut idea.  Then I though it might work for a note pad cover.  So, here you have it: The little tags are SU and the letter stamps are Technique Tuesday, otherwise everything is PTI. Now, before I show you a close up of the die cut, I feel I must provide a disclaimer: Please don't look at this image for too long as it may cause headaches.  It gives me a little bit of one; it's a tad crazy with all the color and dots. Take Tylenol and take care, Ang
