Howdy and dinner,

I found a new sketch challenge, hosted by Jen of The Deconstructed Sketch Girls.
It was recommended to me by a pal over at the PTI forum.
I really liked the sketch and decided to give it a try.

I made this card as one of the gift set I mentioned in this blog post.
It matches the note pad I made as part of PTI's MIM challenge.

I am really pretty happy with how it turned out.
I had been reading recently about how versatile coffee filters were to use in scrapping.
Can you guess what I used the coffee filters for?  Here's a hint:
I only had these unbleached ones, but really like the flower that I made with them.
I popped the watering can out for a little depth.
Lots of PTI goodies used on the card.
The patterned paper is just an old scrap I found, but I really like the way it works.
I want to make at least two more cards to complete the set.
I will post those soon.

Warning: raw fish ahead (may disturb some viewers)
Now onto dinner, something a little less pretty.  Last night for dinner I barbequed this (almost) whole salmon.  My Costco has been selling these fresh Coho salmon for a couple of weeks now.  They are really good, really fresh and really cheap.  So I stuffed the inside with herbs, garlic, lemons and a little olive oil.  Used some cotton string to hold it all together. When my husband saw it, he thought it looked like something out of a magazine.  He took pictures of it.  So I thought, what the heck.  I must say it was quite yummy.  Since my kids don't partake, I will be eating salmon for lunch for a few days.

The lemons look striped because before i cut them up I took off a little of the rind to add to the stuffing.

Thanks for visiting.
See you soon,
Ang

Great card. How clever of you to use a coffee filter for the flower.
