Faux Half & Half

Thanks to Michelle at Iamderby for this great idea.  

She is a fellow PTI devotee and her card caught my eye.  Not only for the beautiful colors but I noticed the strip of Ripe Avocado along the left side of her card.  She mentioned that she had cut it with a Spellbinders die.  It looked a lot like a brilliant new concept that Nicole of PTI came out with last month.  I really like the idea of these stamps and dies but since I am on a pretty strict budget I can't always have everything I want.  

Well after seeing Michele's card and exchaning a note with her, I decided to give it a try.

Here are the strips I cut  along with the associated Spellbinders I used.

You can see on the Labels 9 strips I got two different looks just by turning the die.

 First I laid the die over the paper to measure the width of the strip.  Once I had my strip cut I tucked into the die and taped it with removable tape.  It took a little bit of time to get the hang of it but once I did, I was on a roll.  I don't have a lot of Spellbinders but was impressed with the possibilities using the dies I do have. 

I will show you some projects using the strips soon.
