This was so fun!
Hi Everyone,
It's time for an end of the term blog hop over at House of Cards and
we have a super fun challenge AND tons of great prize opportunities for
those of you who join in the fun! You should have arrived here
from Vanessa's blog. If you haven't, please start all the way back at the House of Cards hop post and follow the list found in the body of the hop post!
This is my first DT Blog Hop. I am very happy to say that I am staying on with HOC for the next six months. It has been so much fun and really pushed me out of my comfort zone a couple of times.
This is my first DT Blog Hop. I am very happy to say that I am staying on with HOC for the next six months. It has been so much fun and really pushed me out of my comfort zone a couple of times.
Here is the beautiful inspiration photo for the hop.
I really love this image and was inspired to make two completely different cards.
Both of which are a little over the top for me, but I love both of them.
We have some great sponsors and they not only provided us all with inspiration; images, digital paper and stamps, they also provided us with some fantastic prizes.
Please link over to the HOC post for more details on the sponsors and prizes.
For my first card I chose to use some Eclectic Anthology (sponsor) digital papers.
I saw the wire basket and immediately saw weaving.
I cut my digital papers into strips and wove them.
I really like the way it looked but wasn't exactly sure how to fit it onto the card.
I stamped SU's new background, Hardwood, and die cut into a frame.
The leaves and sentiment are from Avery Elle's Modern Leaves set.
I even did a little stiching for my flower stem. The flower center is an old brad I had in my stash.
I really wanted to get some numbers on the card so I added the embossed number strip, on the right, at the last minute.
My second card got a little more elaborate.
I used STAMPlorations (sponsor) gorgeous Trendy Feathers set.
I really wanted more white on this card. I realized that besides a little green and yellow, the inspiration photo was really about texture. There are a lot of different textures going on.
I love texture and really had fun putting this card together.
These feathers are stunning.
The window frame is die cut and then I clear embossed it with the SU Hardwood stamp. The view out the window is an SU embossong folder.
I, very lightly, rubbed a little grey ink along some of the cloud edges.
I had to think about the basket for a bit.
I remembered that I had some lightweight metal in my stash and went looking for it.
Luckily, as messy as my scrap space gets, I can usually find what I am looking for, which is kind of astonishing for me.
I hand cut the little basket. Glued the little pearl strip to the top for even more texture. I wanted to add a little bit of the yellow/green to the right side of the basket. I made a little handle, ran a piece of white satin ribbon over my ink pad, and voila! matching ribbon.
Now get to hoppin'! Your next stop is Rudlis. If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the original blog hop post--and don't forget to link up a project at the House of Cards blog after completing the hop for an extra chance to win a mystery prize from one of our fabulous sponsors, too!
Well, this has got to be my longest post in a while, thanks for hanging in!
Love,
Ang
